Role: Facilities & Maintenance Operative

Location: Prestwick

Hours: 5,5,4 shift pattern (07:00 - 19:00)

Salary: £28,840 plus £3,000 shift allowance

We are seeking a versatile and proactive Facilities & Maintenance Operative to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our organization's facilities remain safe, operational, and well-maintained. You will be responsible for performing a range of maintenance, repair, and engineering tasks while contributing to a positive, inclusive, and efficient workplace environment.

Job Accountabilities

  • Ensure all vehicles are kept in a clean and serviceable condition
    • Daily/weekly checks on all company airside and landside vehicles, including completion of company inspection sheets and reporting any unserviceability/reliability issues.
    • Daily/weekly checks of all company MEWPS and Forklifts including completion of company inspection sheets and reporting any unserviceability/reliability issues.
    • Ensure all company vehicles have sufficient fuel for the day’s operation.

 

  • Ensure all company GSE (ground service equipment) is kept in a clean and serviceable condition
    • Daily/weekly/monthly checks on all company airside and landside GSE, including but not limited to; scaffolding, access platforms, GPU (ground power units), safety barrier fencing, completion of company inspection sheets and reporting any unserviceability/reliability issues.
    • Ensure all company GSE have sufficient fuel for the day’s operation.

 

  • Ensure the hangar facility is kept clean, tidy and safe, including but not limited to;
    • Assisting with management of the hangar waste management programme.
    • emptying hangar bins.
    • enforcing waste management procedure.
    • Keeping hangar floor clear of dusts, debris, spills and FOD (foreign object debris), including a daily hangar floor clean.
    • carrying out the daily hangar bird scare programme.

 

  • Assist with any other ad-hoc tasks or projects including but not limited to;
    • Escorting duties
    • Driving of forklift, MEWPS, tugs,

 

  • Facilities Duties:
    • General care and maintenance of the facility including but not limited to
    • ad hoc repairs.
    • Timely reaction to raised Facilities request tickets.
    • painting of offices/facilities.
    • movement of office furniture.
    • ad hoc projects as directed by the Facilities & HSE Manager
    • PAT testing.
    • advising of waste uplift requirements. 

 

  • Admin Duties:
    • Completion & filing of company forms/inspections sheets.
    • Coordination & booking in vehicles/equipment for servicing/repairs/calibration/approvals/MOTs/etc.
    • Reporting of cleaning products stock, including PPE

 

  • Maintain compliance with:
    • Health and Safety & COSHH regulations
    • Storm Aviation procedures & risk assessments
