Role: Purchasing and Logistics Lead

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing and Logistics Lead to oversee procurement, logistics, and inventory management within our aircraft interiors business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation supply chains, with a particular focus on compliance with EASA and CAA regulations, especially Part 21G (Production) and Part 145 (Maintenance) approvals.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing / Procurement:
• Manage the sourcing and procurement of materials, parts, and components used in aircraft interior production and maintenance.
• Ensure all purchases meet airworthiness requirements, Certificates of Conformity, and traceability standards.
• Maintain relationships with approved suppliers and ensure compliance with the company’s QMS and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and delivery terms.
• Support internal teams (engineering, production, maintenance) with timely procurement aligned to project schedules.
Logistics / Inventory Management:
• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including freight, customs coordination (where relevant), and transport scheduling.
• Manage inventory to ensure accuracy, proper storage, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
• Monitor stock levels, implement demand planning, and maintain appropriate safety stock levels for both Part 21G and Part 145 operations.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure on-time delivery of parts and materials.
Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure procurement and logistics activities comply with EASA/UK CAA Part 21G and Part 145 standards.
• Maintain full traceability and correct documentation for all aviation parts and materials.
• Collaborate with the Quality and Compliance teams to support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support internal and external audits (e.g., EASA, CAA, customer audits).
Systems & Process Management:
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage procurement and stock control.
• Monitor supply chain KPIs including supplier performance, cost control, and delivery metrics.
• Identify and implement improvements to supply chain processes to increase efficiency and reduce lead times.
Leadership:
• Lead and develop the purchasing and logistics team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience & Skills:
• Minimum 5 years in a purchasing/logistics role, ideally within the aerospace or aircraft interiors industry.
• Strong knowledge of EASA and CAA Part 21G and Part 145 regulatory environments preferred.
• Proven experience with aviation part certification (e.g.,Form 1, CoC, traceability).
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work within a regulated industry environment.
