Role: Line Maintenance Control Engineer
Location: East Midlands Airport
Hours: shifts including nights - 1 working weekend every 6th week, plus some working from home shifts
Salary: £65,864 (Basic) Shift pay: £2,800
Role Summary
The Line Maintenance Control (LMC) Engineer is responsible for all matters technical to ensure continuity of the flying operation wherever possible with the quick and efficient resolution of any technical issues that develop during production.
The Line Maintenance Controller will be required to coordinate and control all maintenance requirements related to the line operation, ensuring fast and effective recovery to expedite the return to service of the aircraft by the allocation of resources and spares, whilst guaranteeing continued communication with the wider business.
Responsibilities
Within Part M requirements, the LMC is required to provide effective and timely technical advice and support to Operations Control Centre (OCC), Line Engineers and Flight Crews.
Liaise with Part M/Part CAMO post Holder and/or OMM Manager for guidance/clarification.
Liaise with OCC on all technical matters, ensuring that they have up to date clear information and the necessary understanding of the cause of production delays or AOG situations.
Support and manage information regarding AOG (aircraft on ground) recovery plans and incidents on the ground.
Manage and oversee the line maintenance plan to ensure Operations have clear visibility of planned maintenance inputs, line service checks, and Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADDs).
Control and oversee that all Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADDs) are raised against the correct Minimum Equipment List (MEL) reference and satisfy the limitations as referenced, whilst monitoring and risk assessing all ADD defects for the cumulative effect of multiple deferred defects.
Ensure that all raised ADDs are tracked, planned, and closed expeditiously and prior to any expiry
Give technical support to line engineers performing trouble shooting of defects and repetitive defects.
Ensure that all guidance given is performed in accordance with and according to Part M/145 procedures and Technical Instructions, using the necessary spares/tooling and manpower with reference to the correct Aircraft Maintenance Manuals
Attend and deliver briefings to the wider business, plus produce status reports as required.
Ensure all activities are carried out safely and good housekeeping standards are always met.
Academic/Educational Requirements
Desirable - Valid EASA B1 and/or B2 License or ICOA equivalent
Desirable - Current HF, FTS Level 2. EWIS
Engineering qualification – HND Level or equivalent experience
Required Skills/Experience:
Minimum 10 years Aviation line and/or base maintenance experience
Skills on type (B737/ATR) or similar
Must be proactive, self-motivated & confident self-starter
Effective and positive team player
Possess confident and effective communication skills (both written & verbal)
Ability to make good judgements and decisions based on the needs of the company operation, in a very dynamic, fast changing environment.
Proven ability with problem solving and excellent planning & organising skills
