Role:  HGV Driver (6 month contract)

Hours:  Day shift / Monday to Friday / Night shift / Overtime / Weekend availability

Job description Chevron are looking to support a client in the Derbyshire area who are looking for HGV Class Drivers with previous experience of Aerospace transport. Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Aerospace experienced HGV Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting aerospace goods safely and efficiently to various locations in the UK and EU. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle flatbed deliveries.   • Operate a lorry in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
  •  Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly on the flatbed. 
  • Understanding and experience of Aerospace Engine/Powerplant movements and haulage processes  Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. 
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols while on the road and during loading/unloading processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by being courteous and professional during interactions with clients.

Requirements:

  • Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) Class 1 with appropriate endorsements for flatbed operation Class 1. 
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.  Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.  Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. 
  • A clean driving record is essential; candidates may be required to undergo background checks as part of the hiring process.
  • Must have transported aircraft engines
  • Class 1 HGV License: 2 years (required)
  • Aerospace Shipment: 1 year (required)
